Meet Indigo
Indigo Provides Light Smart EVs For Sustainable Transport of People, Parcels & Food
Indigo Technologies, Inc. is a U.S.-based electric vehicle company headquartered in Woburn, Massachusetts, just 20 minutes outside of Boston. Originating out of mobility labs at MIT, and later formed as a private company, Indigo has literally reinvented the wheel to innovate a new car architecture from the ground up. By moving the motors to the wheels, an entirely new class of commercial fleet vehicles provide greater economics and experiences for fleet companies and their drivers.
Key Problems Holding Back Today’s Fleets and Drivers
Fleets and Fleet Leasing Cos
- Unit economics of commercial EVs are not sustainable
- Charging infrastructure cannot adapt at the same rate as the desired transition to fleets
- Fleets are not software-optimized for logistic efficiencies
- Maintenance of vehicles and software is an operational burden
- Drivers have range anxiety
Gig Economy Drivers
- High operating costs for drivers: Fuel, Maintenance, Insurance, Repairs
- Depreciation: High mileage decreases car value quickly
- Fuel Efficiency: Older cars consume more fuel
- Unreliable autos or maintenance Downtime: Repairs mean lost driving income
- Financing Costs: Monthly payments can be more than gig profits
Ride-Hail Drivers
- Unit economics of today’s commercial EVs are not within reach and are not sustainable for drivers
- Ride-hail passengers often have unique needs, such as ingress and egress assistance, and even wheelchairs or mobility devices
- Charging infrastructure is limited, and both drivers and passengers have range anxiety
- Maintenance of the vehicle and software is an operational burden
We’re solving these challenges by focusing on Unit Economics and User Experience—improving fleet efficiency, reducing operational costs, and delivering a superior driving and riding experience.
If you own or manage fleets (directly or as a fleet management company) we want to show you what makes the Indigo EVs the best choice.
